Errors

Track JavaScript errors on your website

The Errors tab shows JavaScript errors occurring on your website, helping you identify and fix bugs that affect user experience. On Rybbit Cloud, error tracking needs a Standard plan or higher.

Enabling Error Tracking

Turn on Error Tracking in the Tracking tab of your site settings, or click Enable on the Errors page if you can configure the site.

Error Information

Errors are grouped by message. Errors of different types with the same message share one row, which shows one of their types. For each error, you'll see:

  • Error Type - ReferenceError, TypeError, SyntaxError, NetworkError, etc.
  • Error Message - The specific error message
  • Occurrences - How many times the error was triggered
  • Sessions - Number of unique sessions in which this error occurred
  • A sparkline of occurrences over the selected period

Click an error to expand it and see its individual occurrences. Each one shows the timestamp, page, browser, device, and location, plus the stack trace when the browser recorded one. Use Copy stack trace to paste it into your issue tracker.

Using Error Data

  • Prioritize by impact - Fix errors affecting the most users first
  • Monitor after deployments - Watch for new errors after releasing code
  • Debug user reports - Find the exact technical issue when users report problems
  • Track third-party issues - Identify when external integrations are malfunctioning
