Track custom events on your website

The Events tab shows custom events tracked on your website.

Setting Up Events

See the Track Events guide for implementation details.

Events Page

On Rybbit Cloud the Events page needs a Standard plan or higher.

Stat band

The top of the page shows:

  • Events - Custom events in the selected period
  • Users with an event - People who sent at least one event, and their share of all users
  • Events per session - Average events per session
  • Event names - Distinct event names, and how many are new compared with the comparison period
  • Autocaptured - Clicks, links, forms, copies, and inputs captured by autocapture

Chart

The chart groups events by Event type or Event name. When grouped by name, choose how many of the top events to plot. Click a series in the legend to show or hide it. Pageviews are hidden by default.

Event names table

Every custom event name in the period, with these columns:

  • Event - The event name. Expand a row to see its properties and their values.
  • Events - Total times it fired
  • Users - Distinct users who sent it
  • Per user - Events per user
  • Trend - A sparkline of the event over the period
  • Change - Change against the comparison period, when a comparison is on
  • Last seen - When it last fired
  • Used in - The goals and saved funnels built on this event. If nothing uses it yet, Create goal turns it into a goal in one step.

Click the filter icon on a row to filter the dashboard to that event. Use Search event names to find one.

Event log

The Event log lists individual events, newest first. Click any row to open its details, including properties, page, user, and device. Live is on by default: the log shows the latest events, updates every 2 seconds, and ignores the date range you picked (filters still apply). Scroll down to pause it. Turn Live off to see only events from the selected period.

Filtering

  • Filter the dashboard to an event from the Event names table
  • Use the filter panel to combine event filters with other dimensions
  • Change the time range to analyze event trends
